03 / Crawl space encapsulation
Better protection.
Beneath your feet.
A carefully installed vapor barrier helps separate your crawl space from the exposed ground beneath your home.

between soil and home.
Exposed earth can release moisture into a crawl space. Encapsulation covers the ground with a durable vapor barrier, with attention to seams, edges, and penetrations to limit ground moisture entry.
A sealed ground covering can also form part of a crawl space radon mitigation system when paired with appropriately designed ventilation beneath the membrane. Encapsulation alone is not a substitute for radon testing or a complete radon mitigation system.
What to expect
A clear path forward.
Look beneath the home
Evaluate crawl space conditions and identify moisture or drainage issues that may need attention before sealing.
Create the barrier
Install and seal a vapor barrier around the crawl space’s shape, supports, and penetrations.
Plan for the whole space
Discuss ongoing moisture control and whether a separate radon mitigation system is appropriate. A barrier does not solve every water or humidity issue.
